The Mayor’s Challenge is a two-day race series designed to find the best cross country skiers. The top Open division skiers can claim the title of Mayor’s Challenge Champion.
There are also SuperTour, College and Junior Olympic Qualifier categories that will include the top skiers in the Midwest. To race in the SuperTour division you must have a USSA license. To race in the JOQ you must have a CXC license.
Location: All events will be held on the trails at Theodore Wirth Park, Minneapolis, MN

Dates: Saturday January 23 and Sunday January 24, 2010.
Races open to: Mayor’s Challenge/SuperTour, College, OJ, JI, J2, J3, J4, J5, Youth
Group/seeding: INTERVAL START RACES: All USSA/FIS licensed athletes will be seeded by current points ranking in groups of 20.
Random seed within groups. Non-licensed athletes follow randomly in categories.
MASS START RACES: Arrow start. All licensed athletes seeded first by current points ranking in groups of 20 followed by non- licensed in categories as listed in daily schedule below.
Entry fees: Mayor’s Challenge/ JOQ/ Super Tour – $45 both races; after January 16 – $65.
Collegiate - $30 both races; after January 16, $45.
J3/J4/J5/Youth - $5/race
ATHLETE CATEGORIES:
Mayor’s Challenge: Open category for all racers who are not competing in JOQ, Super Tour, and collegiate races.
SuperTour: USSA licensed athletes
Collegiate: NCAA Qualifier
CXC Age Groups: Junior Olympic Qualifier points races for both days for Midwest CXC
licensed juniors.

AWARDS: Awards Ceremony immediately after the races.
Mayor’s Challenge – Medals will be given to top male and female in combined events; and top male and female each event.
